- World Heritage Day is observed on 18 April, every year. It aims to increase awareness on the importance of diversity of cultural heritage and preserving it for the generations ahead.

There are lots of amazing sights in Egypt, and the Pyramids of Giza are one of them. Other places of note include Bagan in Myanmar, Angkor Wat in Cambodia, and the Great Wall of China.
- World Heritage Day is actually called The International Day for Monument and Sites and was established in 1982 by the International Council for Monuments and Sites, or ICOMOS.
- The International Council for Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) organization was established on the principles set forth in the Venice Charter, otherwise known as the 1964 International Charter on the Conservation and Restoration of Monuments and Sites.
- During a seminar in Tunisia, the International Council of Mountains and Sights suggested celebrating World Heritage Day on 18 April 1982.
- Then, in November 1983, at the 22nd session of the UNESCO Conference, a resolution to celebrate World Heritage Day was passed on April 18 every year.
- A World Heritage Site is a place that is listed by the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization as of cultural importance. World Heritage Day gives us an opportunity to conserve and preserve our heritage culture which is of ancient significance. They have an outstanding universal value.
- Sites are nominated to and designated by the World Heritage Convention. The Convention recognizes the way in which people interact with nature, and the basic need to preserve the parity between both.
- The theme of the World Heritage Day 2021 is “Complex Pasts: Diverse Futures”.
