Government bans 47 Chinese ‘Clone’ Apps

The government crackdown on Chinese applications proceeds, as the information and technology ban 47 new apps. The move comes about a month after the prohibition on 59 Chinese apps, taking them all outnumber of mobile apps obstructed to 106.

The new apps incorporate clones and various versions similar to that of the original apps, official sources stated, including that action may be made against increasingly Chinese apps working in India.

About a month prior, Chinese applications, for example, TikTok, UC Browser, Helo, Likee, Shareit, Mi Community, WeChat and CamScanner were restricted by the central government for “taking part in activities which are biased to sovereignty and trustworthiness of India, defence of India, the security of the state and public order”.

The new boycott included CamScanner HD, and lighter versions of censored apps, for example, Likee, Bigo Live, and Helo, among others.

Different applications with Chinese courses might be under the lens.

The reason continues as was given before already. The IT ministry had gotten a bearing from the home ministry for this activity, and after this, it was chosen to act against them,” a source stated, including that the order was issued on Friday.

It is considered that the government is intently examining different apps that have Chinese headings. These incorporate top gaming application PUBG (by Chinese internet giant Tencent) and AliExpress (by Alibaba group).

Among different reasons, the government is worried about the information assortment and information reaping practices of these apps and feels that these procedures might be biased to the security of the nation.

The government has so far sent a long list of questions to Chinese app designers. A large number of organizations are yet to react to the inquiries.
